I am still playing a ton of Diablo IV in my free time. We are currently in a shortened season ( only 12 weeks ) and the new season starts in about 3 weeks with the new Expansion and class rework. There will be tons to write about then, however I am still enthralled with all these small little Idle games on Steam lately. I picked up Crusaders Quest: Hero Town for some nominal fee and the graphics are excellent. It not exactly bobble-heads, but the townsfolk of this little RPG Manager / Town Builder are quite fun to watch go about their day. It's like a medieval terrarium.
Here is a video below of just a normal little day of them fighting monsters coming out of portals:
Nothing crazy, just a normal day in Crusader's Quest
I have only played the game in idle mode for probably about 4-5 hours now. I don't think I have any of the heroes above level 20 and I believe I am still going through the tutorial ( that little white box on the right hand side ). It is a great game to just kinda keep up throughout the day and check on when you get a break. Do a little management and then send your crew back out while you get some work done. Check back in at lunch and see your loot / manage a few little dudes and dudettes and then let them go back out and do their thing to the slimes and goblins of the world. It's nice to have something to not actually monitor, I pull it up alongside whatever else I'm doing, check in on my heroes, maybe gift some biscuits or croissants to boost their stats or queue up a building upgrade, and then get back to life. When I return, progress has been made. It's genuinely satisfying without being demanding. I mentioned it in a previous post, but I used to never understand how people would play soccer / football management games and not play the actual sports games. I get it now. There just really isn't much time and it is nice to make a little progress in a game.
Is it the deepest game ever made? Absolutely not.
Fun? Yes.
I recommend. ⚔️
